FBR BEGININGS
In November 2006 Eclipzer posted a message on the freebasic.net forums regarding the state of the FreeBasic community. His ideas were nothing new. In fact he was bringing forward the thoughts that were already on many peoples minds. The fact that the QB scene was fading away, and the FB community needed to step up and forge the way for its future. The FBR was created as part of this movement to revitalize the FB community and help it expand.
ABOUT THE SITE
FBR strictly runs off of community involvement. There are administrators, but their job is not to constantly add content. The site can only run on community posted content like polls, articles, scene news, comics, and download links/info.
FBR is meant to be a portal for community members and outsiders to see what is happening in the community as well as show off their work. The site is also designed around a monthly archive. This helps the site feel more like a Zine as well as provides a chronological look at the events that transpire over the community's history.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Your contributions to FBR are very important. If you run across something FB-scene related you would like to share with the community please post some news or an article about it. Under articles you could post a tutorial, a review, an open letter, a rant, or something general that doesnt fit those categories.
Post to the download showcase. You can show off your work, or someone else's that you found on a forum. This is important because a lot of times great demos are lost in a forum history some place and only a few people ever run across them. This way there is a searchable archive dedicated to downloads found across the community websites.
Of course if you have any recommendations of things that we could add to the site please drop us a line at syn9_at_rpgdx.net
FINAL WORDS
From the FBR Staff we thank you for reading this page and hope to see your support for the community and help keep it alive by posting to THE FREEBASIC REPORT!
